Following a successful return in 2023, Melbourne Museum is thrilled to announce that Nocturnal: Museum After Dark will return in February 2024, kicking off with three exciting programs with late-night access to Titanic: The Artefact Exhibition.

Hop aboard and unite with friends on the second Thursday night of each month as Melbourne Museum comes alive after dark for an adults-only evening of music, food, drinks and entertainment, including Drag Bingo! Throughout February, March and April 2024, all Nocturnal ticket holders will have access to Titanic: The Artefact Exhibition, the global blockbuster, returning by popular demand.

In February, Nocturnal: Hot & Bothered is presented in partnership with Midsumma Festival 2024. Celebrate queer culture and daring activism at Nocturnal with a full program of talks, tours and surprises just for adults. Explore the wild and wonderful spectrum of sex diversity in the animal kingdom with a talk from a museum expert or embark on a curator’s journey through Rainbow Threads, discovering how LGBTQIA+ identities have influenced and revolutionised fashion styles and stories within Museums Victoria’s clothing and textile collection. DJ JARV!S will curate the nights soundtrack, weaving a vibrant fusion of disco and house tracks from around the world to get you moving.

Following your visit to the Titanic exhibition in February, IMAX Melbourne will be presenting James Cameron's TITANIC masterpiece on the giant screen, looking better than ever with an IMAX 3D High Frame rate remaster. Book tickets separately through IMAX.

In March, Nocturnal: Worlds Apart, journey beyond the world you know to explore other realms and realities, with a program of talks and tours exploring Melbourne Museum’s collections. Throughout the program, a whole host of topics that span the spectrum of human experience will be explored, from poignant stories of the Titanic that illuminate the stark contrasts of class and fate to an exploration of the mysterious depths of the deep sea. Delve into the abyss, where a talk reveals the bizarre and mesmerizing creatures that thrive in the shadows of darkness.

In April, collect your boarding pass for Nocturnal: Bells & Whistles, your last chance to uncover the wonders of Titanic: The Artefact Exhibition before it bids farewell to Melbourne Museum. Dress in your best and make some noise at Nocturnal as the museum celebrates all things bells and whistles, from talks and tours exploring the intricate mechanisms of trains, planes, and automobiles to the enchanting melodies of bird calls.
