Melbourne Museum, Immigration Museum and Scienceworks coming to a screen near you!
Our doors are temporarily closed so Museums Victoria is coming to you with Museum at Home.
“Museums play a vital role in our community, helping us to understand and connect with the world around us, and during these unprecedented and challenging times of physical distancing and self-isolation, it is more important than ever to find new ways to come together,” said Museums Victoria CEO & Director Lynley Crosswell.
With this in mind, Museums Victoria is finding new ways to share our collections and research and to bring our museum experts to the people, wherever they may be. Introducing Museum at Home, a new project from Museums Victoria enabling the community to connect, explore and learn more from their favourite museums every day.
Tune into our digital channels to see what goes on behind the scenes of Australia’s largest public museum organisation, where a world of museum experiences is available for you to explore. “This is a fantastic initiative from Museums Victoria, connecting people of all ages to our museums and to each other. It’s a great example of how our cultural institutions are adapting in the face of adversity, and how Victorians can continue to support them while we get through the current circumstances," Minister for Creative Industries Martin Foley said.
Museum at Home sites are now live and we will be adding more virtual experiences for all to enjoy over the coming days and weeks.
