Victorian Railways: Celebrating 150 years of railways in Victoria is a joint project between Public Record Office Victoria, the Department of Infrastructure and Museum Victoria.

The Department of Infrastructure is the lead provider of essential infrastructure in Victoria, with responsibility for transport, ports and marine, freight, information and communication technology (ICT), major development, energy and security. The Department of Infrastructure has funded the Victorian Railways website as part of a series of projects and events which recognise the 150th anniversary of railways in Victoria.

Public Record Office Victoria is the archives of the State of Victoria. They hold the official records of public transport in Victoria, including the Public Transport Corporation Photographic Collection, from which several hundred images have been drawn for inclusion in the Victorian Railways website.

Museum Victoria is the state museum for Victoria (Australia), responsible for the care of the state's collections, providing public access and conducting research. In developing the Victorian Railways website, Museum Victoria drew on its extensive image collections, including The Biggest Family Album, and images from the Charles H. Perrin and Norm de Pomeroy collection.
