In August 2021, 11,563 Victorians voted online for their favourite fossil to be crowned the state's official fossil emblem.
On Thursday 13 January 2022, the Victorian Government announced the ‘kool’ Cretaceous winner: 125-million-year-old extinct amphibian, Koolasuchus cleelandi.
You can find all eight fossils at Melbourne Museum, which had originally been found in various Victorian locations.
