In line with Victorian Government regulations, restricted visitor numbers apply across all Museums Victoria venues.
Extended weekend hours 9am–4.30pm.
Don't miss out – book online!
To ensure you don't miss out, online bookings are highly recommended with tickets currently available up to 24 December. Limited onsite tickets are subject to availability.
Keep your visit under 90 minutes
To help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, timed tickets are in operation and we're asking all visitors to limit their museum visit to 90 minutes. (It's going to feel a bit like being in your own private museum!)

We're going cashless across our venues – including shops and cafes.
Increased safety measures
The Pumping Station and Lightning Room will remain temporarily closed to the public. All other galleries and spaces at Scienceworks including the Melbourne Planetarium will be open with restricted visitor numbers in enclosed spaces and increased cleaning, hygiene and physical distancing measures in place.
The Ground Up exhibition will be closed daily between 12.45pm–1pm for cleaning and the Air Playground exhibition will be closed daily between 1.45pm–2pm for cleaning.
We need your help too
Don't forget to wear your face mask, practice physical distancing and good hygiene. If you’re unwell, please rest up at home and visit us when you are well again.
Visiting the Planetarium?
To add a Planetarium show to your ticket, select a museum entry session time at least half an hour prior to your selected Planetarium show time.
In line with Victorian Government guidelines, we will collect the first name and phone number of every visitor for the sole purpose of contact tracing in the event of a suspected COVID-19 case.
Museums Victoria actively promotes the management of a COVID Safe environment for all visitors and staff. Our COVID Safe plan reflects the most up-to-date public health directions.
