The Giants Immersive

Experience the wonder of our ancient tall forests, in this immersive short film at Melbourne Museum. 

This National Science Week, bring your students to see the incredible The Giants Immersive film at the Learning Lab Studio. The short film will transport your students into the heart of Australia's ancient forests; home to some of the oldest and tallest trees on Earth.

Focusing on the hidden life cycle of trees; as well as the plight of these Gondwana-era forests under threat.

The monumental video installation is a collaboration between the film's directors Laurence Billiet and Rachael Antony at General Strike, and French artist Alex Le Guillou, expanding upon their work on the award-winning film The Giants.

Students will experience

  • the epic proportions and sublime beauty of these forests, in our special National Science Week viewing.

Students will learn

  • changing the physical conditions of a habitat, including by human activity, may affect the growth and survival of organisms;
  • plants and fungi have external features that perform different functions to enable their survival.

  • National Science Week is Australia’s annual celebration of science and technology.
  • No bookings needed.
  • The Learning Lab Studio is located near the Blue Whale skeleton.
