Metamorphosis immersive short film
Metamorphosis, at Melbourne Museum, is an immersive short-film on the life cycle of the Orchard Swallowtail butterfly.
This National Science Week 2026, be part of our education special experience.
Come and see the transformation from egg to caterpillar, chrysalis, and butterfly, featuring real-world imagery, soundscapes, and projections in the Learning Lab Studio.
Captured using digital cinema cameras and powerful macro lenses, months of growth and change are compressed into a 5-minute cinematic experience to reveal these delicate creatures as they come to life.
