Join us for an interactive workshop designed to help families of all ages explore and preserve their unique heritage together.
This session will guide participants through creative approaches to uncovering family histories. We’ll explore how to think expansively about "family" - including chosen family, community connections, and cultural traditions that shape our identities. The workshop covers practical techniques for documenting family recipes as cultural artifacts, organising and digitising family photographs and documents, and connecting personal histories to broader historical contexts using public archives and historical records.
Participants will leave with tools for conducting gentle family interviews, strategies for engaging different generations in storytelling, and ideas for creating family history projects that honour diverse perspectives and experiences. All materials provided; bring your curiosity and family photos to share.
