VCE VET programs allow students to include Vocational Education and Training (VET) as part of their Senior Secondary Certificate. As well as up-to-the-minute industry technical competence, students develop a range of employability skills, such as communication, planning and initiative, problem solving, teamwork and use of technology.
Top Designs features products designed and produced by students to meet the requirements of scored assessment within their VCE VET program. The programs eligible for Top Designs are VCE VET Creative and Digital Media, Integrated Technologies, Music (Sound Production), Engineering Studies and Furnishing.

In 2020, Top Designs expanded its inclusion of VCE VET subjects, welcoming applications from Creative and Digital Media, Furnishing, Integrated Technologies, Music (Sound Production) and Engineering Studies.
