Low Sensory Sessions

On the first Saturday of every month, Melbourne Museum offers low sensory sessions for visitors who experience sensory sensitivity.
Visitors will have the opportunity to experience quieter galleries with fewer people and reduced sensory stimuli.
Low sensory inclusions:
- Sound and light level reduction in all galleries included with museum entry
- A quieter time of operation
- Sensory maps available on arrival to plan your low sensory visit
- Social stories offered through our Autism-friendly museum program
Please note: We have not made adjustments to surcharged experiences such as temporary exhibitions, shows or programs. While 3 to 5pm on Saturday is traditionally a quiet period, Melbourne Museum is popular and there may still be crowds in our gallery spaces.
