Unit 3, Outcome 3: Designing for others – Documenting the product design process

Criteria 1

Skill in developing an end user/s’ profile, research, a design brief and evaluation criteria with reference to the product design factors

This folio page provides a justification for the chosen design option of the electric vehicle charger. The design was chosen because it meets various criteria, including weather proofing, economics, and ability to connect to all power outlets.

This folio page gives a justification of the preferred design option, based on rankings from the end-user. The final design has incorporated elements from two different design options that were favoured. This folio page set out industry manufacturing processes and suitability of materials, processes, and equipment. This gives more insight about how Rori’s designs would be manufactured on a larger scale.

Criteria 7

Skill in project management and justifying modifications in realising the preferred option

This folio page explains alterations made to the pattern pieces of the garment. A final fitting with the end-user is also detailed, where Holly sought direct feedback about the modifications.
