On display at Melbourne Museum until 25 October 2026, ROME: Empire, Power, People explores the incredible rise, rule, and legacy of one of history’s most remarkable civilisations.
As a vibrant display of Ancient Rome’s history and cultural life, a private viewing of this Melbourne-first exhibition alongside a tailored function at the museum will create an elevated evening and unforgettable guest experience for any event.
Showcasing more than 150 objects depicting Ancient Rome’s political, social and spiritual worlds, these items will be on display exclusively in Melbourne for the first time ever.
Designed by Museums Victoria and developed in collaboration with Contemporanea Progetti, as well as curators from
Museo Nazionale Romano and Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Firenze, Rome: Empire, Power, People will draw on the extraordinary collections of two of Italy’s most prestigious museums for this never-before seen exhibition.
