The ground floor of the Royal Exhibition Building is defined by its impressive heritage features, including detailed frescos, polished timber floors, elegant columns and the magnificent Dome.

Made up of the Eastern and Western Naves, the Northern Transept and the Dome, the space offers exceptional flexibility for exhibitions, dinners and large-scale events. A catering kiosk is located in the Northern Transept, and a variety of venue configurations are available, with minimum hire including the Dome and Northern Transept.

Nestled between the Royal Exhibition Building and the vast, architecturally acclaimed concourse of the Melbourne Museum, Museum Plaza runs all the way from Nicholson Street right through to Rathdowne Street.

Regularly used as public event space or for outdoor exhibitions, this immense area is an exciting platform for any number of events wanting to spotlight wonder. With nearly 8,000 square metres of open-air space, there’s plenty of room for multiple marquees, creative activations and other large-scale installations.
