Discover everything you’ve ever wanted to know about dinosaurs! In this 60-minute F to 2 primary school incursion, students will learn about the fascinating world of dinosaurs by engaging with dinosaur bones, fossils, replicas and stories that will help them go back in time to consider when dinosaurs existed on earth.
Our hands-on interactive experiences with complementary digital resources will provide an incredibly rich learning environment for all students. Featuring:
- Casts of a Triceratops horn, teeth and section of a frill from the Triceratops: Fate of the Dinosaurs exhibition from Melbourne Museum
- A life-sized Muttaburrasaurus skull
- Koolasuchus cleelandi, an ancient car-sized amphibian and Victoria’s State Fossil Emblem
Who is eligible for the program?
The Dinosaurs... traces of the past program is suitable for students in years Foundation - 2 who can’t easily attend the experience at Melbourne Museum due to distance (living in regional Victoria).
Visits are scheduled by geographic location to maximise opportunities for regional schools to participate. Subject to availability.
Program sessions cater for up to 60 students and run for 60 minutes, allowing for up to three sessions to be run during a school day.
Where are we visiting?
The program will be delivered at schools in 2025 on week-long trips throughout regional Victoria.
The locations of our visits across Terms 2 to 4 will be based on demand, so please express your interest if you are interested in the program in your region or wish to find out more information.
