Passing down knowledge

Listen to Imani and Tyali Nelson explain how passing on knowledge is vital to knowing Country.

Imani: Having the knowledge that was passed down to me by my grandfather and mother is going to be very important to me to pass on that knowledge to generations after me as having that knowledge has helped me to stay more connected to Country.

So when we are back on Country and we practice our cultural practices whether that is through dance or song, that’s when I feel most connected to country.

Tyali: We’re very privileged to hold the knowledge that we do. We can recognise that a lot of people don't have that knowledge. Passing down that knowledge is vital, especially in this day and age where we’re getting more modernised.
