VCE VET Furnishing students develop the skills and knowledge required to enhance their employment opportunities in the furnishing industry.
Using traditional furniture-making techniques, students use hand and power tools to make and assemble components for a range of high-quality furniture items, as can be seen in the excellent works on display. Students also complete industry-specific units focusing on safe and sustainable work practices and career development.

Victorian Ash, Jarrah
These two round nesting tables showcase a refined blend of craftsmanship and the natural beauty of the materials. Made from Victorian Ash, each piece highlights the timber’s grain and strength, while a contrasting Jarrah inlay adds a striking touch of richness and character. Designed to nest seamlessly, the tables offer both practicality and elegance. Laminations on the rails achieve the curves that follow the round top and a segmented top fitted with biscuits for a strong design.

Victorian Ash
My turntable cabinet is a rectangular piece crafted from Victorian Ash that is stained with rich walnut. Shadow gaps, paired with precise mitre, loose tenon and biscuit joints, create a clean yet intricate design. Its three-compartment layout maximises storage space, while the refined exterior allows the cabinet to be admired from any angle. The classy brass hardware works with the deep brown wood to complement the timeless character of a turntable, serving as a striking centrepiece in any room.
