While we encourage discussion and love to hear your feedback, these guidelines are designed to promote respectful conversations, create safe spaces for alternative points of view and protect other people’s privacy. We will not tolerate disrespectful, offensive, crude, hateful or irrelevant comments or comments that make another person feel unsafe.
Please keep all comments and discussion respectful and courteous.
We may remove or report posts, comments, or links that we consider:
- discriminatory, potentially defamatory, false, or misleading, off-topic, inflammatory, repetitive, offensive, or otherwise inappropriate.
- defamatory, or potentially defamatory, threatening, harassing, bullying, discriminatory, hateful, racist, sexist or is otherwise unlawful or inappropriate.
- disrespectful toward another person or make another person feel unsafe.
- compromising the privacy of yourself, other contributors, Museums Victoria staff, or containing inappropriate personal information.
- commercial content, products, activities or advertisements.
- deliberate provocation of other community members, or inciting overtly political or religious debates.
- asking for a valuation or comment on the worth of an object.
- content that is obscene, offensive, or contains explicit language.
- repeated or spam-like posts, including irrelevant links.
- content that infringes intellectual property rights. (e.g. unauthorised use of images, text or media)
- any other material we consider to be inappropriate.
Our social media accounts are monitored Monday to Friday by Museums Victoria's social media team.
We retain the right to block a user whose posts or comments include material we consider are inappropriate or include any of the below. The views, opinions, and information expressed in user-generated comments remain with the authors and do not necessarily reflect those of Museums Victoria and nor does Museums Victoria confirm their accuracy.
