Lightscape Explorers is a hands-on discovery lab where children aged 0–6 will experiment with light, shadow, and open-ended materials. Using child-friendly STEM tools like lightropes, blacklights and projection, young explorers will investigate how natural and recycled loose parts - stones, leaves, plastics - transform in light. The experience will encourage creativity, inquiry, and imagination, with no predetermined outcomes. Children are free to combine, test, and reimagine materials in ways that reflect their own questions and ideas. By engaging in open-ended play, children will connect with nature, develop scientific thinking, and experience the wonder of light in motion. Lightscape Explorers reflects the Playbound themes of play, nature, science, and imagination through an immersive and child-led learning experience.

Presented by Gowrie Victoria and Global Play Lab with Museums Victoria as part of the Playbound Festival.
