Join cultural practitioners Tāne Te Manu and Te Rarangi as they share Māori celestial traditions in celebration of Matariki – the rising of the star cluster known globally as Pleiades, the Seven Sisters, Matariki or Makali‘i. Recognised and honoured by many cultures, this cluster carries deep ancestral knowledge and meaning.Through storytelling and hands-on star weaving, you’ll discover the significance of each star in the Matariki cluster and its connection to land, ocean, and wellbeing.
Enjoy a vibrant atmosphere that centres Indigenous knowledge and seasonal cycles, this is a space to gather, reflect, and celebrate – whether weaving for remembrance, new beginnings, or quiet contemplation.
