Secrets of the sky

Join us on an adventure through the night sky!

Go beyond Earth’s atmosphere and journey to the stars to discover the secrets of the sky. Have you ever wondered how you can identify a star from a planet in the night sky or why we always see the same side of the Moon from Earth?

During this presenter-led show we’ll take you on a tour of our solar system and the stars beyond.  You’ll gain insight into our place in space, investigate all the objects we can see in the night sky, and learn how to spot constellations.

What do you need to participate?

Our online programs at Museums Victoria are run via Zoom. It’s free and easy to use.

Group setting
If you plan to have participants joining in a group setting, ideally you will need to have access to a large TV, smart TV, or data projector that can be connected to a device with the internet so that you can join via Zoom. A laptop or iPad screen will be too small to view the presentation as a group. We will send a link to the person making the booking which you simply click to then join the session.

Individual setting
We will send out a link to join the program to the person making the booking which they can then send onto up to 50 participants. Children and families can join from home on any computer or device with internet access.

Exclusive sessions
If you would like to book an exclusive session on a date, time and subject by negotiation please visit our Holiday science online: exclusive sessions page. Exclusive sessions run via Zoom with participants able to have their microphones and cameras on to participate.
