Mars has two small, rocky moons called Phobos and Deimos. Imagine if Earth
had two moons!

Mars has a very thin atmosphere made of carbon dioxide.

Mars has the biggest volcano in the Solar System. It is called Olympus Mons and it’s three times bigger than Mount Everest, the highest mountain on Earth.

One year on Mars is about two Earth years. You will be about half your age if you lived on Mars.

Mars looks red because of the rusty soil. It also has huge dust storms that can cover the entire planet and last for weeks.

The gravity on Mars is about a third of the gravity on Earth—everything is lighter and you could jump really high!

Mars can be as warm as 20 degrees Celsius but can get super-cold—down to minus 150 degrees Celsius!
