Can you tell me if the person I intend buying a gift membership pack for already has a Museum Members membership? I can give you their name and address.

We are not able to confirm whether a person is a member or not due to privacy legislation.
 

I want to buy a gift membership pack online for friends/relatives living in Australia but I live overseas. How do I complete the online form?

Your receipt and gift voucher will be emailed to you separately. The gift voucher can be forwarded to the recipient or printed out and presented to them.
 

I want to buy a gift pack for friends/relatives and have it mailed to me. How do I do that?

Purchase a gift pack online from our Museums Victoria Store website, or at the Melbourne Museum or Scienceworks stores on your next visit.

How long does the recipient have to activate the membership?

Once a gift membership is purchased the recipient has three years from the purchase date to activate the membership. Once activated, the membership is valid for one year.
 

Do I enter my postal details on the online form or the person I’m giving the gift membership to?

Yes, enter your personal details online. The gift membership will be emailed to you, so that it can be passed onto the recipient. The person that receives the gift will need to complete the activation online using the unique activation code.

Once activated, the recipient will receive a welcome pack and membership card to their postal address. Membership commences for 12 months from the date of activation.
 

I would like to buy two gift memberships through our organisation, can you please send me an invoice?

Unfortunately we do not offer an option of payment on invoice. Gift memberships are available for purchase either online or at one of our shops, located within Melbourne Museum, Scienceworks and Immigration Museum and payment must be made upon purchase.
 

If I buy a gift membership today, does this day become the first day of the membership?

A gift membership is activated once the recipient activates the membership. The gift membership is not activated from the date that the gift is purchased.
 

How do I activate a gift membership? 

You can activate your gift membership online using your unique activation code. You will then be emailed a temporary membership card for immediate access which is valid for 2 months and your annual membership card(s) will be mailed to you.
 

Can I exchange my gift membership for cash?

No, a gift membership cannot be exchanged for cash and no refund will be provided.
 

I lost my gift membership pack, can I get a new one?
