This school incursion is a curriculum-aligned outreach program designed to deliver STEM skills to primary and early high school students in regional Victoria.
One of Scienceworks’ most popular programs, Robotics and Coding is a hands-on program that engages years 3 to 8 students in real-world scenarios.
Students have the opportunity to design and write code for their robots and complete challenges to create self-driving autonomous cars.
Using block-based programming, students work in pairs with mBots and iPads, developing STEM skills such as problem solving, creativity and innovation as they code, debug and collaborate.
The program will also engage students in considering future STEM careers and applications.

Who is eligible for the program?
The Robotics on the Road program is suitable for students in years 3 to 8 who can’t easily attend the experience at Scienceworks due to distance (living in regional Victoria).
Visits are scheduled by geographic location to maximise opportunities for regional schools to participate. Subject to availability.
Program sessions cater for approximately 32 students and run for 60 minutes, allowing for up to three sessions to be run during a school day.
Where are we visiting?
The program will be delivered at schools in 2025 on week-long trips throughout regional Victoria.
The locations of our visits across Terms 2 to 4 will be based on demand, so please express your interest if you are interested in the program in your region or wish to find out more information.
