'Mi viene in mente quando' is an Italian reminiscing kit designed to assist older Italians recall both their past life in Italy and migration to Australia. The central theme of this kit is migration, in particular the experience of Italian migrants in Australia.
The kit explores stories of post-war Italian migrants and includes common objects related to setting up home in Australia.
Many of the objects were used in the home, especially in the kitchen, as the kitchen was the centre of the house for Italian migrants. Other objects relate to pastimes of Italian men and women in Australia.
The objects contained in this kit are drawn from the collections of Museums Victoria and the Italian Historical Society.
This kit is specifically designed for activity coordinators to use in reminiscing sessions. It is suitable for aged care groups only.
