Culture Makers Season Three EOI

Culture Makers is an initiative seeking creatives to develop experiences that engage audiences at Melbourne Museum.

Expression of Interest

CLOSES: 5.00pm, Friday 12 April 2024

We will be seeking applications from ‘Culture Makers’ for the Culture Makers Season Two program. Members of an independent Creative Advisory Panel will select Culture Makers to deliver creative work across Melbourne Museum from July 2024 to June 2025. Collaborative ideas are encouraged. Creatives can also apply in pairs. 

Apply now to be supported to be a Culture Maker to create experiences that engage and connect public audiences with our museums and spaces.

  • Shared responsibility to place First Peoples at the core of Museums Victoria’s practice

To be eligible to be a Culture Maker you must:

  1. Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
    Identify as culturally or linguistically diverse/person of colour
    Be collaborating with those identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander or culturally or linguistically diverse/person of colour.
  2. Reside in Victoria.
  3. Be willing to develop your creative ideas with the Museums Victoria team to deliver an experience at the Museum for a negotiated period from July 2024 – June 2025.

Benefits to Culture Makers

Participants will gain insight and experience working in the GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums) sector through collaboration with museum staff. Participants will be paid a fee and supported by Museums Victoria’s team of producers over this period, working closely with our in-house teams to refine and deliver the experience.


A fee of $4,000 plus GST (if applicable) will be paid to each Culture Maker to prepare and deliver their experience.
