Meet acclaimed children’s author Lisa Harvey-Smith, who will be hosting a fun talk in the Lightning Theatre where she will be discussing her brand new book ‘Quarks, Sparks and Quantum Mysteries’. This event is perfect for curious kids and their parents, who will even have an opportunity to meet with the author one on one after the talk concludes!
This event includes a free Mini Sparks show culminating with lightning from our Tesla Coil. Following this event, Lisa will be available to sign copies of her book in the main Scienceworks foyer until 12:30pm.
Lisa Harvey-Smith
Lisa Harvey-Smith is an astrophysicist and Professor of Practice at the University of New South Wales, Australia. She has worked at universities and astronomical observatories around the world and written more than 50 scientific papers about stars, galaxies and black holes. Lisa is a multi-award-winning science communicator, television presenter and former Australian Government Women in STEM Ambassador. Her illustrated science books are enjoyed by adults and children around the world.
