Sui Zhen

Sui Zhen

Sui Zhen is the alias of Melbourne-based ‘dream beat’ artist Becky Sui Zhen. Following her recent electronic experimentation with ethereal techno-pop and minimal down-tempo 808-lead tracks, the new LP (Secretly Susan) marks a return to more traditional vocal-led pop songs. The album takes influence from Japanese lovers rock, 80s electro-bossanova and dubby-lounge pop which Becky discovered during holidays in Japan and London where she was a participant at the Red Bull Music Academy.

BATTS is the project of Melbourne based musician and space enthusiast Tanya Batt. Creating a blend of folk and rock and blending samples collected from space missions courtesy of NASA throughout her music. A strong obsession with space and novels helps inspire the concepts and writing within BATTS music. Creating soundscapes that take you on a journey with relatable lyrics to help the listener in whatever way needed.

Well renowned on the Australian circuit as ‘taste-makers’ of the music and fashion industries with their distinct style and eclectic mixes, MAI prevail as a driving force in the exciting cultural shift we see today across the new generation of music in Australia. A fusion of Afrobeats / Afrohouse & Dancehall rhythms paired effortlessly with the hottest of today’s Hip Hop and Grime is what you can expect in a MAI set – keeping this bold pair at the forefront of what’s hot in Australia and across the globe right now. NOW.

Nuestro Planeta

Nuestro Planeta is a queer and fem energy heavy party that plays anything from afrobeat, rnb, future club, dub step, grime, drum and bass, and everything in between! As long as it makes you want to dance. Nuestro Planeta was born because this party didn't exist yet – one that was run by women and booked the DJs and played the music that Bec and Eliza wanted to hear. It began as a rap party focused on creating a space a little different to the bro-heavy parties that were frequenting the Melbourne rap scenes.

Rara Zulu

Rara Zulu is a South African born, Melbourne based vocalist with a wholesome rawness and a unique tendency to pull you into a state of vulnerability through her music. Her sound is heavily influenced by Soul, R’n’B, and Hip Hop; made apparent in the rhythm and depth in her voice. Rara is brought to life by a live band, finding grooves in space and time created by instruments that provide the perfect landscape for a cascading serenade.

Currently working alongside artists like Ijale, Elle Shimada, 30/70, Messy Mammals and Rat Child; she brings an electrifying element to the stage at every performance.  Rara's solo projects are a stand out that place her in the league of pioneers of a fresh sound.

SHOUSE is Ed and Jack; a couple of friends who like hang out to make weirdo-house and the occasional anthem. Their live-house sets these days incorporate a network of analog synthesisers, sequencers and drum machines, along with bizarre instruments tinkered up in Jack's dad's rural shed. Always a chance to dance, always a strange and wonderful time.
