Horridus 3D

How close would you get to the horns of a real Triceratops?

Now you can safely explore every detail of Horridus’ skull in 3D.

When you visit Melbourne Museum, one of the first things you’ll notice about Horridus the Triceratops is how huge the fossil’s head is! In fact, Horridus’ skull alone weighs 261kg.

From the sharp horns to the enormous frill to Horridus’ intimidating beak, there’s a lot to take in.

You might even notice how the Triceratops’ skull has been squashed by the pressure of the rocks around it. After all, the fossil has been in the ground for 67 million years!
