As you wander among the trees of the Forest Gallery, Biik Milboo Dhumba | Country Is Always Talking invites you to consider what it means to listen to Country.

For the First Peoples of Australia, Country is more than place. It describes a deep connection to land, water and sky, to animals and plants, to ancestors and to the wisdom of the land itself.

Each person has their own relationship to Country, grounded in mutual respect.

Biik Milboo Dhumba | Country Is Always Talking  offers a chance to gain a deeper understanding of the meaning of Country and the ways it connects to language and culture.

As you enter the forest, portraits introduce people of the Eastern Kulin Nations, and placed throughout you'll find opportunities to listen to stories of their unique and personal connection to Country. A sculpture by artist Robert Young provides a place to reflect on the knowledge and wisdom of Country passed on through story.

Biik Milboo Dhumba | Country Is Always Talking  invites you to listen differently.
