Music Industry (Sound Production)

VCE VET Music Industry (Sound Production) allows students to work with contemporary industry technologies. Students learn to reinforce sound in live situations and to record, edit, mix and enhance sound within a recording studio context. Students also complete industry-specific units focused on the application of style and genre, effective work practices, health and safety, and copyright.

Whipping Post

Pro Tools

Whipping Post is a classic rock song by the Allman Brothers released in 1969. Upon hearing a recent cover of the song by Noah Guthrie recorded in 2020, I was inspired to create a modern take on the song whilst still paying homage to the original. I engaged local musicians for vocals, drums and keys, whilst recording the guitar and bass myself. This was a really fun and enjoyable process, in which I learnt a lot about the processes of other musicians and their preparation before performances. Exchanging ideas within this group of musicians and receiving their feedback helped me to create my final product.

Late Night Swirl

Pro Tools

Late Night Swirl is a smooth blend of RnB and Melodic Rap, with an atmospheric beat supported by honest lyrics. I aimed to replicate styles pushed by artists like Drake and 6LACK, whilst also adding my own unique, creative form. I used both Pro Tools and FL Studio in the production and mixing process.
