Firbank Grammar School, Brighton

A black and white photograph depicting a dancer in motion. The dancer’s arms and legs are extended mid-leap, and a white cloud of flour surrounds them.

Sport in Motion

Inkjet print

My intention was to create a series of visually appealing digital photographs that would inspire my intended audience about sporting greatness.

This series allows the audience to view sporting moments in a way that freezes motion in time and gives the viewer the opportunity to see details that would usually be missed by the naked eye.

The Necessity of Marriage

Inkjet print

My aim was to create a photo series that captures an unsuccessful marriage that ends in chaos.

I wanted to communicate to young people, specifically young women, that marriage is not the be-all and end-all and that there are more important things to life, such as love and companionship.

Diwali: An Ode to Home

Dye sublimation print

I wanted to explore the photographic style of portraiture and the genre of environmental portraits and produce a series of staged portraits in a linear photographic narrative. I aimed to capture the character and personality of my mother, using a range of symbolic codes such as facial expressions, body language, gestures, stances and eye contact. I also used costumes, props and setting to convey her cultural heritage and identity as an Indian woman. My photographic series was constructed to inform and educate my audience about the importance of embracing cultural heritage and valuing the multicultural society in which we live.
