Castle Quest

Graphic novel

A girl and her friend escape into a fantasy world only to realise that in the real world all their dreams simultaneously come true. My intention with the creation of Castle Quest was to draw inspiration from stories such as Harry Potter, which merge the fantasy genre with the values of normal high school life. I wanted the audience to be entertained and fascinated with each turn of the page, and feel satisfied with the friendship my characters developed by the end of the novel.

Greenhouse

Digital print

This magazine enlightens readers to the immediate threat of environmental and climate issues in our day-to-day lives. The idea for Greenhouse came from the surrounding environment, both in its political as well as temperate climate. Creative special interest magazines such as Frankie and The Plant have also been a great source of inspiration. By drawing on these sources, I aim to invite readers to fight the algorithm of urban flurry, explore the beauty of our existing world and imagine ways to protect it.

half & half

Inkjet print and laser print

My zine half & half embraces the raw emotions and vulnerable second ‘half’ of ourselves, which is often concealed and hidden in the ‘picture perfect’ world we live in. I used various different art formats within my piece to encourage the audience to engage with the themes from different perspectives. The tangible, tactile media product allows readers to physically interact with the zine and confronts the importance of authenticity.

Now and Not Yet

Inkjet print

The Now and Not Yet café is a not-for-profit venture that serves Warrandyte and its greater community. My photo book meta-narrative titled Now and Not Yet is constructed with the central theme ‘all about the people’. It illustrates the impact that the café has on society, through the perspectives of different stakeholders. I intend to inform, educate and empower audiences to oppose social conformity and pursue the café’s vision for Melbourne.

You’re Killing the Freaking Planet!

Laser print and acetate

My intention was to create a politically charged art zine that encourages the efforts of those who support the anti-climate change movement. Drawing inspiration from publications such as Eardrummi, the audience is encouraged to interact with the content by rotating it or lifting acetate inserts off the page to fully immerse themselves in the zine. The intention is for people who are passionate about these issues to feel that their efforts and values are heard.
