Decoding Dinosaurs – Exploring the known, unknown, and the thrilling adaptations and survival of dinosaurs!
Students will experience
- Being in the Museum Theatre, and hearing about the most extreme features of the dinosaurs at Melbourne Museum;
- Seeing incredible images of dinosaurs and exploring how we know that they once looked that way.
- Discovering the latest science taking place in the world of palaeontology at Museums Victoria;
- Finally, meeting one small and adorable Triceratops... shh! Don’t tell your students about the surprise!
Students will learn
- That dinosaurs have observable features that can be used to group them in different ways.
- That Scientists discover new things about dinosaurs all the time, and this changes the way we understand how they lived.
- how dinosaurs have evolved over time, as seen in fossils records.
- How the structural features of dinosaurs enabled them to thrive in their environments.
Students will be provided
- All students will be given a curriculum aligned dinosaur booklet, which can be used in the galleries and back at school.
Students will need
- Pens or pencils.
