Nature scavenger hunt
How good are you at finding things in nature? If you are willing and game to look, feel and listen outdoors, we have a challenge for you.
Get your senses ready and start your scavenger hunt in your local area. You might find some of the things on our big list one day and then more the next. You may also like to look at Museums Victoria’s collections online before and after your hunt to give you inspiration.

Here is your scavenger hunt list:
1. Hear a Magpie’s warble
2. Find something that feels rough
3. Hear a frog call
4. Find an animal that only comes out at night
5. Find an animal with 4 legs
6. Find a flower the size of your hand
7. Find an insect with spots
8. Find an insect with stripes
9. Find an insect that has see-through wings
10. Find a spider web
11. Find 3 trees with different kinds of bark
12. Find a native pigeon
13. Find two different mammals - (e.g. kangaroo, dog, cat)
Get creative
1.Make a flower rainbow. When you are out in nature find flowers that are pink, purple, orange, yellow, blue.
2. Find leaves and sticks to make a bug.
