Rowan and Nicole's Wedding
Real Weddings with Museums Victoria Venue & Events
Bride & Groom: Rowan & Nicole
Wedding date: 12.11.2016
We met.... We worked for the same company and knew of each other, and then at a Friday night drinks session we started chatting and hit it off.
My something old.... Our signing table, it was a picnic table my grandfather made for me years ago. As he is no longer around, it was a really beautiful way to make it feel like he was still a part of our day.
Our first dance.... The Trouble I’m In by The Unfaithful Ways. We loved the irony of choosing this song - it was a cheeky spin on a traditional romantic ballad, and we both love the tune.
Why did you choose the venue? We really liked the idea of a park setting, but were looking for something with a bit more privacy. As soon as we stepped on to the North Terrace space we knew it was perfect. Epic and impressive, and in the middle of the city, but still feeling very much like a quiet park space. The awesome Museum team also made us feel very confident that our day would run smoothly.
Most memorable moment of the day? How to pick just one?! One of our favourite moments was during the ceremony, I was starting to get a bit teary and asked Rowan if he had a tissue, and like the most suave, charming and prepared guy in the world he whips one out of his top pocket, much to the delight of our guests and family.
The icing on the cake? Our acoustic guitarist, Justin. It was a perfect, understated accompaniment to our day that topped it all off for us.
