Stories in the Stars begins with Erica and Daniel.
Two First Peoples teenagers from the city are at their family's Country at Lake Tyrrell in north-west Victoria, and spend a weekend walking around the lake with Grandma and Grandpa, hearing stories about the constellations and how they relate to their culture.
Although Australian First Peoples groups have different astronomical traditions, there are some broad similarities. First Peoples astronomy describes many constellations that cannot be seen from northern latitudes. Even constellations that can be seen from Europe appear different in the sky in the southern hemisphere.
Stories in the Stars shows you a new way—the oldest way—of looking at the night sky.
All Planetarium sessions include a presenter-led What’s in the sky tonight? presentation.
Please note: sessions during school hours may include school groups.
