  • What did you learn from this article about Victorian bushfires that you didn’t know before?
  • What was the most interesting thing? Why?

The 2009 Bushfires are now part of Victoria’s history, and the Museums Victoria Bushfire collection helps us to remember and understand the impact of those events. It helps us to understand the ongoing threat of bushfires.

Collecting the Curve

In March 2020 the Victoria Government declared a State of Emergency as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Social distancing

As a result, life in Victoria changed dramatically. Social distancing has changed a lot of things about how we live.

  • Why do you think the Museum is interested in creating a COVID-19 collection?
  • Why should we document  what’s happening during  this  lockdown?
  • How do you think we should  capture and document this moment in history?
  • What sort of things have been collected?
  • How is the story being told?
  • Choose an object from this site that you find interesting and share your thinking with a friend or your teacher.
