1854 Scholarships celebrate the museum's long history of research across both the Sciences and the Humanities, and build relationships between Museums Victoria and the university communities. 


The McCoy Project

The McCoy Project is a joint initiative between the University of Melbourne and Museums Victoria. It fosters innovative and high impact research projects that leverage the strengths of the two partners.  Participants who share common interests are drawn from the University of Melbourne and Museums Victoria to take part in the McCoy Project.


Monash University and Museums Victoria Scholarship

This scholarship is award based on academic achievement and is offered to students who are undertaking an Honours research project based on the Museums Victoria collection or in association with a Museums Victoria researcher.


Robert Blackwood Partnership

Monash University (through its Faculties of Arts, Education and Science) and Museums Victoria have launched a new research seed funding scheme. The scheme is designed to encourage and facilitate new research project ideas and initiatives that lead to high impact collaborations and significant external funding.
