We support the education and development of tertiary students by providing a range of work based learning internships, higher degree research programs, and scholarship opportunities.

Internships

Our internship program welcomes applications from tertiary students for short, unpaid, work based learning placements across a range of disciplines.

Sci Comm Works

In this four-month program for tertiary students, you’ll get the opportunity to learn from science communication experts and apply your skills with visitors at Scienceworks.

Higher Degree Research

Our Higher Degree Research program welcomes applications from Honours, Masters and PhD research students for projects with direct links to the Museum’s Collections.

Scholarships and seed funding

Scholarship opportunities and seed funding are available to Higher Degree Research students.

Work experience

We receive a very high number of requests from secondary students hoping to complete work experience placements at our Museums. We appreciate the interest and would love to accommodate these requests, however our program is currently oversubscribed, and no placement opportunities are available.
