The Grow, Gather, Share exhibition explored the rich history and diversity of gardening and food in multicultural Victoria, through personal stories and a pop-up garden.

As waves of migrant groups arrived in Victoria, they brought with them their own individual culinary practices and traditions. Their gardens flourished, in backyards and community spaces, along with the agricultural practices of Victoria’s First Nations peoples, cultivated over tens of thousands of years.

Plants and ingredients grown and shared have influenced recipes passed down through generations. These culinary practices have become ways in which our cultural heritage and identity can be expressed and explored.
