Abstract

Synidotea poorei new species (Idoteidae) is described from fouling community on navigational buoys and jetties in Singapore waters. It belongs to the S. hirtipes species group. The new species is characterized by a smooth uropodal peduncle, sub-parallel pleotelson lateral margins and a moderately excavate pleotelson posterior margin. It represents a new record for the genus in Southeast Asia.
