I am a curator and historian who enjoys uncovering and sharing the secret life of things. I am passionate about finding creative and collaborative ways to share and connect objects and stories with the community in engaging and entertaining ways.
I’ve worked at Museums Victoria for over eight years with a number of different History & Technology collections. Much of my work has focused on making the collections available and allowing people to connect with them through online and digital projects.
As Senior Curator of Politics & Society I work with the Politics and Society, Royal Exhibition Building, Historical Archaeology and Numismatics and Philately collections. I undertake research to document the collections and understand them better. I collect new objects and sometimes dispose of old ones. Most importantly I work with other colleagues and the community to share the collections and their stories and connect them with people.
I am currently completing currently completing a PhD at Deakin University titled ‘Snowflakes in a Sunburnt Country: a heritage of skiing in Australia’.
If I’m not working or studying you can find me on a mountain somewhere skiing.
