As collection manager, I manage and maintain the Mammalogy, Ornithology and Herpetology collections at Museums Victoria. This role also includes facilitating access to the State Collections through loans and for visiting researchers, assisting with field work, preparation and accession of specimens into the State Collections, and providing expertise on mammals and the vertebrate collections to help with public enquiries, exhibitions and other stakeholders.
My interest is in Australia's unique native mammals and their evolution. I graduated with a PhD in 2008 studying the early evolution of ringtail possums (Pseudocheiridae). I subsequently spent 12 months working at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of Natural History (Washington DC) on collection-based projects in Vertebrate Palaeontology and the Herbarium. I joined Museums Victoria in 2010 and have been a collection manager in Vertebrate Zoology since 2012.
