Eel feeding

Daily at 1:45pm (not during winter)

Watch a writhing mass of hungry eels gobble up their lunch!

See the short-finned eels in Milarri Pond enjoy their daily feed and learn about the importance of these fish to Australian Aboriginal people and our aquatic ecosystems.

You'll hear about the astonishing life cycle of short-finned eels – a migration over thousands of kilometres down the east coast of Australia, and back again. You'll also see the animals that share the eel pond: native silver perch (Bidyanus bidyanus) and Macquarie turtles (Emydura macquarii).
