Why is Melbourne Museum/Scienceworks/Immigration Museum/Royal Exhibition Building/IMAX closed to the public?

We are taking these steps as a public health precaution in support of measures to contain COVID-19, especially for those in our community who are most vulnerable.

Is the Melbourne Museum car park open? Do trade rates still apply?

The Melbourne Museum car park remains open as usual at this time.

Trade rates remain in place at $12 for the day.

When will you reopen?

At the moment we plan to reopen our doors to the public on April 13. Due to the rapidly changing nature of the situation, we will continue to monitor advice and adapt accordingly.

Museums Victoria will be providing regular updates on our website and on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

Have all Visitor Engagement Officers on the floor been tested for Coronavirus?

Any staff displaying symptoms or feeling unwell have been directed to stay home from work and to refer to the Department of Health And Human Services Coronavirus Self-Assessment tool.

What will happen to the education and regional outreach program?

All public programs have been cancelled until April 13, including education and regional outreach programs. Due to the rapidly changing nature of the situation, we will continue to monitor advice and adapt accordingly.
