What's On

As the city comes alive with Australia’s only all-night celebration of culture and creativity, start your family adventuring early in your favourite Melbourne Museum spaces.

This year sees Melbourne Museum respect our amazing First Nations with a focus on Australia’s First Peoples, as well as highlight the Te Vainui O Pasifika gallery redevelopment phase with a celebration of Pacific Island nations with music, dance, and visual arts.

Witness the spectacular projections on the magnificent Royal Exhibition Building under the twinkling of Melbourne’s starry night. The collections and pop-up creative happenings of Melbourne Museum will entice you on journeys from near and far and leave those young, and not-so-young, filled with a sense of wonder and awe.

This is more than just a bit of fun. This is an adventure.

In partnership with White Night Reimagined and Visit Melbourne.

PluginHUMAN

Multi-award winning art-technology duo PluginHUMAN, founded by Australian artists Dr Betty Sargeant and Justin Dwyer, construct immersive environments to bring about greater connections between people, nature and machines.

At White Night, Melbourne Museum this year, PluginHUMAN will create an evocative performance space for multiple First Peoples performers. Animated patterns and textures from the First Peoples collection, selected by curators, and environmental data from the Carlton Gardens trees, will come together in incredible LED light sculptures and projection art to truly set the stage.
