NAIDOC Week 2018 will celebrate the invaluable contributions that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women have made – and continue to make - to our communities, our families and the rich history of our nation.
In honour of 2018 NAIDOC theme Because Of Her We Can we're taking an in-depth look into work created by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women in our collection. Kimberley Moulton, Senior Curator, South-eastern Australia Aboriginal Collections will speak on key works and discuss the role of historical collections and the intersection of First Peoples contemporary art and creative cultural practice within the museum space.
Speaker: Kimberley Moulton is a Yorta Yorta Woman and Senior Curator of South Eastern First Peoples Collections. Kimberley's work focus includes collaboration and research with historical Ancestral belongings and living cultural makers and South Eastern Aboriginal Culture and the intersection of contemporary art and culture within the museum.
