Be inspired by some of Museums Victoria’s rarest native geckos to make your own in our family friendly activity.
The Chameleon Gecko from Northern Queensland will be just one of the many geckos on display. With its distinctive tail, the Chameleon Gecko will raise this up under extreme threat. The success of this decoy has allowed this beautiful species to endure since the Jurassic Period.
Learn how Museums Victoria’s Live Exhibits team acquires these rare species, how geckos have adapted and use a variety of ways to survive. There will also be an opportunity to meet a lizard with our friendly staff and create your own gecko to take home.
Join us in the foyer of Melbourne Museum every Sunday and take part in this exciting family friendly programme.
Meet a lizard with our friendly staff at the activity area at 11.40am and 2.10pm.
Suitable for ages 5–12.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
