What's On

Invisible Farmer is the largest ever study of Australian women on the land. This three year project is funded by the Australian Research Council and involves a nation-wide partnership between rural communities, academics, government and cultural organisations.

Come in to the Discovery Centre in the Melbourne Museum to listen to interviews conducted for the project, and hear about the hardships, contributions and achievements of these 'invisible farmers'.

Celebrate the different roles that women in Australian agriculture occupy through Heather Mitchell's hat, the first female President of the Victorian Farmers Federation (1986-89) and co-chair of Landcare Victoria in 1986.
