This History Week join us in an event that turns history on its head. Special guest and MC Mama Alto will be joined by an array of history keepers as they each slam down with stories of contested histories.
Presented in collaboration between Museums Victoria, The Professional Historians Association of Victoria (PHA) and History Council of Victoria.
Guests will enjoy a complimentary class of sparkling wine upon arrival.
Join Mama Alto in the Contested Histories Slam. Mama Alto is a gender transcendent diva, cabaret artiste, jazz singer and community activist. She is a non-binary trans femme person of colour who works with the radical potential of storytelling, strength in softness & power in vulnerability. And she's bringing all this to our History Slam.
Slammers are invited to present complex, uncomfortable, exhilarating provocations in three minutes or less. This is one event you want to be part of.
Who can take part?
Affiliated members of PHA (Vic), HCV and Museum Victoria who are historians, storytellers and history keepers.
